Green sunfish can be found in many small lakes and slow moving rivers most often against rocks or under logs. They feed on aquatic and terrestrial insects,worms,small fish and crustaceans. Best baits are earthworms, small jigs with rubber grubs, inline spinners and artificial flies.
Aggressive feeders they will often be found in very shallow water near the shoreline, 2 feet or less.
Green sunfish often interbreed with bluegills to create hybrids.
